On Sunday, 10 May 2026, 16 players from the 2026 World Cup qualifying protocol were on the schedule. Goalkeepers Hadžikić and Muftić kept clean sheets in wins. Dino Beširović returned from injury and scored in AIK’s defeat to Djurgården. Sturm full-backs Gazibegović and Karić played the full match in the victory and each recorded an assist. We can also highlight a very strong performance and 90 minutes from Esmir Bajraktarević in PSV’s win. Individual notes for each player follow with a few match details.
- Osman Hadžikić — Slaven Belupo – Gorica 1:0 (HNL, matchday 34). Slaven Belupo ended a long run without a win; the goal against Gorica came from Krušelj in the 70th minute. Hadžikić played the full match in goal for the hosts and kept his clean sheet.
- Vedad Muftić — Željezničar – Sloga 3:0 (Liga BiH, matchday 33). Like Hadžikić, Muftić posted a clean sheet in a convincing win over Sloga. The goals for Željo were scored by Krpić, Prokop and Jaganjac.
- Ermin Bičakčić — Željezničar – Sloga 3:0 (Liga BiH, matchday 33). Solid as usual in Željezničar’s win and one of the reasons for much better results in the second half of the season. Željezničar are fifth on 41 points, seven behind fourth-placed Velež. Three rounds remain in the league.
- Sead Kolašinac — AC Milan – Atalanta 2:3 (Serie A, Italy, matchday 36). Kolašinac was back in the Atalanta XI and played the full match in the win away to Milan. Atalanta led 0:3 through Ederson, Zappacosta and Raspadori; at the very end Milan pulled two back through Pavlović and Nkunku from the penalty spot to set up a possible comeback. They could not find a third, and the score stayed 2:3. Atalanta are seventh on 58 points, while with this defeat Milan have put their Champions League hopes for next season under pressure. They are fourth on 67 points but are level with Roma and only two ahead of Como. The last two Serie A rounds should bring a big fight for the European places.
- Jusuf Gazibegović — Hartberg – Sturm Graz 2:4 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 31). He played very well at right-back in Sturm’s win at Hartberg. He assisted Vallci’s opener for 0:1 in the 2nd minute. Pazourek made it 1:1 in the 9th minute, then Markus’s own goal in the 14th and Kiteishvili’s strike in the 25th put Sturm 1:3 up. In the second half Hartberg came back again through Fridrikas’s penalty for 2:3 in the 56th minute. Weinhandl made it 2:4 in the 80th minute to seal the win for Sturm. With this victory Sturm have secured at least second place and Champions League qualification next season. A round before the end they trail leaders LASK by two points; to win the title they need a win against Rapid and a LASK defeat.
- Nail Omerović — Osijek – Istra 1961 0:1 (HNL, matchday 34). He played the full 90 minutes in another home defeat for Osijek against Istra. The winner for Istra was scored by Bosnia and Herzegovina international Smail Prevljak in the 45th minute — his 14th goal of the season, while Omerović stays on eight goals. Osijek are second-bottom on 32 points, four ahead of bottom Vukovar, who are staring at relegation. Istra are sixth on 42 points.
- Arjan Malić — Hartberg – Sturm Graz 2:4 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 31). Arjan was back in the Sturm squad after injury but did not come on in this match.
- Eman Košpo — Fiorentina – Genoa 0:0 (Serie A, Italy, matchday 36). Once again he stayed on the bench for Fiorentina’s goalless draw with Genoa.
- Emir Karić — Hartberg – Sturm Graz 2:4 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 31). Like Gazibegović, he played the full match for Sturm. He assisted Kiteishvili’s goal — his third assist of the season in his 29th appearance.
- Dino Beširović — AIK Stockholm – Djurgården 2:4 (Allsvenskan, Sweden, matchday 7). He returned to the AIK starting XI after missing three games through injury. Djurgården led 1:3 at half-time, and Beširović scored for 2:3. The visitors confirmed the win with Hegland’s goal in the 86th minute. Beširović came off in the 88th minute when Mujanič replaced him. AIK are on a poor run of four games without a win and after seven rounds are only ninth in the table.
- Benjamin Tahirović — Brondby – Aarhus 0:2 (Superliga, Denmark, matchday 31). He started on the bench in another Brondby defeat. Aarhus were already 0:2 up in the first half through Daaisgard and Yakob, and that stayed the final score. Tahirović came on in the second half and played 35 minutes. With this win Aarhus sealed the Danish title a round before the end — their first in 40 years. Brondby dropped to sixth and are out of the running for European football next season; on the last day they visit second-placed Midtjylland.
- Denis Huseinbašić — Köln – Heidenheim 1:3 (Bundesliga, Germany, matchday 33). He watched another Köln match from the bench in the defeat to Heidenheim.
- Armin Gigović — Young Boys – Basel 3:0 (Super League, Switzerland, matchday 36). He did not come on for Young Boys, who beat Basel comfortably 3:0.
- Esmir Bajraktarević — Go Ahead Eagles – PSV 1:4 (Eredivisie, matchday 33). He played the full match on the right wing in PSV’s win away to Go Ahead Eagles. Perišić scored twice for the visitors, Pepi and Wanner once each, while the hosts’ only goal came from Suray from the penalty spot.
- Kerim Alajbegović — LASK – Salzburg 2:1 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 31). Alajbegović started on the bench for a hugely important Salzburg game that they ultimately lost. LASK went 2:0 up in the first half through Adeniran and Molgaard Jørgensen. Alajbegović came on in the 55th minute and Salzburg pulled one back through Konaté in the 87th minute for 2:1. They could not complete the turnaround and thus lost any chance at the title. LASK stay top, two points ahead of Sturm, and on the last day need a win in Vienna against Austria to win the league for the first time in 61 years. They have already won the cup this season, so a domestic double is in sight. Salzburg remain third level on points with Austria and will try on the final day to hold the place that leads to Europa League qualifying next season.
- Luka Kulenović — Telstar – Heracles 3:0 (Eredivisie, matchday 33). Heracles’ losing run continued, and Kulenović played until near the end when he was sent off for a reckless challenge. On the last day they host Groningen, and from next season they will play in the second tier.
