From Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May 2026, seven players from the 2026 World Cup qualifying protocol were on the schedule. The only ones who played outside the domestic league were Sead Kolašinac and Dennis Hadžikadunić, and it is especially encouraging that Hadžikadunić is finding match rhythm again after time out with injury. The Željezničar pair, Muftić and Bičakčić, played for Željo in a defeat to Zrinjski. Benjamin Tahirović, although in the protocol, once again watched the full match from the bench. Dino Beširović and Adrian Leon Barišić did not play because of injuries, while Barišić’s Braga recorded a valuable home win over Freiburg in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals and took an advantage before the return in Germany.
- Sead Kolašinac — Cagliari – Atalanta 3:2 (Serie A, Italy, matchday 34). Kolašinac again started in the first eleven and played until the 73rd minute, when Kossounou replaced him. Cagliari took an early 2:0 lead through Mendy in the 1st and 8th minutes. Before half-time Scamacca scored twice in the 40th and 45th minutes to make it 2:2. The final 3:2 was set by Borelli in the 47th minute, and Cagliari held on for the win. With this defeat Atalanta are all but out of the running for next season’s Champions League. They sit seventh with 54 points, while Cagliari moved closer to Serie A survival with this win. They are 16th on 36 points, eight clear of the relegation zone. Four rounds remain in the league.
- Dino Beširović — AIK Stockholm – Malmö 0:1 (Allsvenskan, Sweden, matchday 5). He missed a second match in a row after having to come off injured in matchday three. His AIK lost again, as in the previous game. Botheim scored the winner for the visitors from Malmö in the 25th minute. After five rounds AIK remains on seven points, six behind leaders Sirius.
- No matches scheduled for our internationals.

- Adrian Leon Barišić — Braga – Freiburg 2:1 (Europa League, semi-final, first leg). As we wrote before, Barišić’s season is over due to injury. Braga took a first-leg advantage in the Europa League semi-finals with a 2:1 win. Dorgeles scored the winner in the second minute of stoppage time; the margin could have been wider as Braga has missed a penalty. The return leg is on 7th May in Freiburg.
- Vedad Muftić — Zrinjski – Željezničar 2:0 (Liga BiH, matchday 32). He played all 90 minutes in goal for Željezničar in the defeat to Zrinjski in Mostar. He conceded two goals and made two saves.
- Ermin Bičakčić — Zrinjski – Željezničar (Liga BiH, matchday 32). Like Muftić, he played the full match for Željezničar, who could not upset Zrinjski. The Mostar side are second, ten points behind Borac, while Željo remain sixth with little chance of European qualification next season.
- Benjamin Tahirović — Brondby – Nordsjælland 1:1 (Superliga, Denmark, matchday 30). He was on the bench for Brondby’s draw. Although they had a man advantage from the 40th minute after Lind was sent off for Nordsjælland, they conceded in the 60th minute when Amoako put the visitors ahead. They still salvaged a point with Divković’s goal in the 89th minute. Coach Cooper continues to use Tahirović sparingly, without consistent minutes — which raises the question whether Brondby is the right club for him next season.
- Dennis Hadžikadunić — Sampdoria – Sudtirol 1:0 (Serie B, Italy, matchday 37). He started on the bench but came on in the 69th minute, gradually building continuity and form. Sampdoria beat Südtirol with a goal from Abildgaard in the 25th minute, and our centre-back helped see the win home.
- Nihad Mujakić — Gaziantep – Beşiktaş 0:2 (Süper Lig, Turkey, matchday 32). He played until the 87th minute in the defeat to Beşiktaş, when he went off with an injury.
